Wild Yam or Dioscorea villosa is derived from a root growing in warm tropical areas of the world. It has been used for centuries in Mexico, Central America, and South America to relieve the discomfort from cramping, headaches, hormone imbalances, and heat flashes. What is a Flower Essence?

The concept of Flower Essences is an etheric imprint mad with sunlight, pure water and flowers. Each species of flower embodies a unique vibrational pattern which acts as a catalyst for healing specific disharmonies. An essence addresses profound issues of spiritual wellbeing and emotional and mental disharmonies that create blocks to spiritual development and realization of our full potential.

A Brief History:

The concept of Flower Essences for healing has existed since ancient times and spanned many cultures. The earliest information in the Western world was recorded in the writings of Hildegardof Bingen, a 12th century mystic and healer who used morning dew from plants as medicine.

In the 1500's, Paracelsus, the renowned healer and mystic also collected the dew from flowers to treat his patients' emotional imbalances.

Dr. Edward Bach (1886-1936), an English physician, is credited with bringing flower remedies back into use.

Each of these practitioners had a love for nature and recognized in her storehouse of flowers an energy which could heal all those in sickness and pain. The positive view is that disease is dis-ease of the body and suffering can serve as an alarm system to guide us into reconnecting with the Divine or Higher Self. Dr. Bach intuitively understood that remedies to unhappy thoughts and feelings were to be found among the trees, herbs and flowers.

How to select an appropriate Essence:

You are encouraged to use your intuition when selecting an Essence. What do you feel drawn to? Awareness of major issues and challenges unique to your life may also be of help in finding the right essence for you. Methods for raising your awareness to patterns of imbalance are through intuition, consulting with others, self observation, self reflection and meditation. Up to 5 Essenes may be combined together for use or for synergistic effects.

Useful Methods of Application:

Orally: 1-3 drops 3x a day in a glass of water, or in a cup of herbal tea.

Topically: 3-5 drops in a bathtub. 3-5 drops in a spray bottle with water. 1-3 drops directly on specific points of discomfort.

Frequency of Use:

Normally for 2 weeks to 1 month, but up to several months with 3 weeks on and 1 week off. Flower Essences are safe and free of toxicity.
