If I come for energy healing sessions, should I stop seeing my
doctor?
No.
Spiritual healing is not a replacement for medical treatment.
It may be viewed as an advanced form of self-care that supports
your capacity to make use of other treatments.
Traditional
Western medicine is very effective at resolving certain types
of health problems and can be life-saving. However, it may be
less effective at fully resolving chronic conditions or restoring
individuals to full health. It may also expose patients to unwanted
risks. People turn to energy healers to support their response
to medical treatments and to resolve lingering symptoms that mainstream
medicine cannot address. Energy healing has no side effects and
can work alongside other treatments very readily.
Is
this similar to Reiki or Healing Touch?
Yes,
each of these modalities utilizes healing energy from the same
universal Source, although the methods of preparation and practice
differ somewhat.
How
long does a healing session take?
Please
allow up to 90 minutes for the initial session, as we will spend
some time talking first. Subsequent sessions are less than one
hour.
What
should I wear to my appointment?
Anything
that’s comfortable for you. Most often, clients rest on
a massage table for their healing sessions. You can also be seated
in a chair. You will be fully clothed at all times.
What
are your fees?
The
cost of a healing session is $80. Payment is made by check, cash,
or PayPal. A sliding scale is available for people with significant
financial hardship.
What
is your background?
First
and most importantly, I am a compassionate and non-judgmental
human being. I have experienced and recovered from substantial
physical illness and emotional loss myself. I would consider it
an honor to be part of your healing process.
As
for my formal training, I earned a Masters of Science (M.S.) Degree
in Rehabilitation Counseling from Boston University in 1989, and
have been nationally certified as a rehabilitation counselor since
1990 (C.R.C. Certification # 00007113). Rehabilitation counselors
are trained to assist people in coping with illness and disability.
I
completed an Internship in the Art
of Spiritual Direction at Mercy Center in Burlingame, California
in 2005 and was ordained as an interfaith minister in Berkeley,
California in 2008 (www.chaplaincyinstitute.org).
I am a Member of the National
Federation for Spiritual Healers, known in the United States
as Healing in America.
I
welcome people of diverse cultures, races, ethnicities, ages,
sexual orientations, and physical or mental abilities. My services
are LGBT/Q friendly.
I
honor all faith traditions, as well as the beliefs and life philosophies
of those who do not adhere to any religion. I do not push my religion
on my clients, and one does not need to hold any particular religious
beliefs in order to be helped by energy healing.
