About
Laurie Schneider
Ancient
knowledge meets modern technology: rejuvenation and
longevity, women's and children's health, infertility, hormones,
ADHD/behavior, allergy elimination, autoimmune, acute/chronic
pain, post stroke, healthy weight loss, nutrition, custom detoxification
The
daughter of an MD and always interested in medicine, Laurie
spent a lot of time in her dad’s clinic and hospital.
While traveling extensively in Asia for business Laurie fell
in to a lasting love affair with Asian culture and Oriental
medicine, and ultimately fulfilled her childhood dream. After
earning her masters in Oriental medicine she entered advanced
studies at an academy and hospitals in Beijing, China under
the auspices of the World Health Organization, focusing on women’s
health, infertility, and cancer studies (I worked in the hospital
in Beijing with a woman who was the number one doctor for fertility
there).
For
over 20 years she continues her studies in:
She
also uses BioEnergetic medicine in her practice, utilizing a
Biomeridian and Trinfinity8.
Some
of her specialized advanced study and certification includes
addictions recovery work with National Acupuncture Detox Association
out of Washington, DC; Advanced NAET with Dr. Devi Nambudripod,
MD, LAc; Acute and chronic pain with Dr. Richard Tan; Qi Gong
with Master Hui Xian Chen; Homotoxicology with Dr. Bruce Shelton,
MD, DHM; Clinical Nutrition and Muscle Response Testing.
"Laurie
is one of the gentlest, kindest, most healing souls I
know – and that’s just her! Then there is
her space, which is gloriously peaceful & soothing
too. Her attentiveness as a listener, her way of questioning,
her love & enthusiasm for both her clients & her
work, along with her skill in acupuncture & other
therapeutic offerings – all are of the highest.
There is considerable healing to be had at her hands,
and I do not hesitate to recommend people to her."

Santa Barbara Holistic Doctor

The
NIH Consensus Statement on Acupuncture:
"In
1997 the U.S. National Institutes of Health published a Consensus
Statement on the use and effectiveness of acupuncture for a
variety of conditions.
Acupuncture
as a therapeutic intervention is widely practiced in the United
States. The issue (of clinical research) is complicated by inherent
difficulties in the use of appropriate controls, such as placebos
and sham acupuncture groups. However, promising results have
emerged, for example, showing efficacy of acupuncture in adult
post-operative and chemotherapy nausea and vomiting and in post-operative
dental pain. There are other situations such as addiction, stroke
rehabilitation, headache, menstrual cramps, tennis elbow, fibromyalgia,
myofacial pain, osteoarthritis, low back pain, carpal tunnel
syndrome, and asthma where acupuncture may be useful as an adjunct
treatment or an acceptable alternative or be included in a comprehensive
management program. Further research is likely to uncover additional
areas where acupuncture interventions will be useful."

The
World Health Organization Interregional Seminar compiled the
above list of illnesses that may benefit from acupuncture treatment.
The list is only a partial list and is based on clinical experience,
and not necessarily on controlled clinical research. The inclusion
of specific diseases are not meant to indicate the extent of
acupuncture's efficacy in treatment, since all conditions may
vary in severity and response.

Custom
Detoxification Programs
Detoxification
can be a vital part of the path to deep, complete emotional
and physical wellness. Testing is done to find the most complete
synergistic combination of tools for each individual, as well
as food sensitivities that may be undermining wellness. A custom
detoxification program may consist of using only whole foods,
or only a simple homeopathy program. Or it may include one or
more of the following: clinical nutrition, Chinese and/or Western
herbs, homeopathy, allergy elimination, emotional release work,
simple breathing techniques and custom qi gong exercises to
open up the meridians, and to move and build qi.
Testimonials
'My
husband and I, both in our late 30's, had tried to conceive
for a couple of years with no results. Laurie took time with
both of us, putting us on a regular routine with acupuncture
and herbs while advising on aspects of our diet and lifestyle.
My cycle became more regular and we both experienced better
health and a greater sense of well being. Within 6 months I
became pregnant, and we have a beautiful little boy. Thank you!'
- CL, Visalia, CA
‘I
just want to thank you. I’ve been outside most of the
day and have not suffered from any allergies whatever, and am
thinking, “thank goodness for her!”. Your work has
changed my life! I don’t even know what I would have done.
I want you to know that I truly appreciate you and the service
you provide.’
- SR, Santa Barbara, CA
‘I
am an active 86 year old and have been benefiting from regular
acupuncture appointments with Laurie for almost 6 years now…
my ongoing 80th birthday present to myself! My fibromyalgia
symptoms have been minimized as I keep up my three times per
week bridge dates and daily walks, as well as regular trips
to see family in New York. I know I can always count on her
when I need her. Thank you, Laurie!’
- Leone Murphy, Montecito, CA
‘I
just want to tell you how much I enjoy your sessions, and how
I still feel the power of them long after I leave the clinic.
You are just very masterful with the needles, along with the
other modalities we have used. Thank you, and I look forward
to working with you in the future.’
- MW, Ojai, CA
