Artist Statement: In nonferrous metals I build long term solutions for living graciously in a plastic world. I have been forming, etching and patinating metals into art for the past 25 years. I like to take the mundane in everyday objects and pay respect to their marvelous functions. That is why I presently work in switch plates, doorbells, and dimmers; to honor the beauty of the small things in our lives. I feel very good about the quality and sensibility of my work as an expression of my obsession to create beauty. Thanks....

About the Artist: Kevin Loughran was born in 1948 in Lancaster, New Hampshire. He lives and works in Gaviota, California, near Santa Barbara. He attended Dartmouth College, Sculpture Studies (1967); Waseda University, Kokusaibu, Tokyo (1968-69); Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, (BA, History, 1975).

Kevin often shows at the weekly Santa Barbara Sunday Beach Arts & Crafts Show.
