Aleya
Dao
By Kelley McMillan
Some people are born with a gift, so is the case with
Aleya Dao, spiritual healer extraordinaire. Aleya
uses her innate, metaphysical talents to help patients achieve
balance and spiritual growth. While some may raise an eyebrow,
she has gained international acclaim as a powerful healer.
A
Chicago native, Aleya began her life long journey as a healer
early on. “As a young child I was actually doing healing,
even though I had no mental concept of what I was doing. I’d
lay my hands on people and try to make it better and most
of the time it worked.”
Realizing in her twenties that she needed some formal training,
she began to study massage at the Oregon School of Massage
in Portland, which eventually led her to Reiki
and acupuncture. After earning her masters degree in Oriental
Medicine from the Southwest Acupuncture School in 1997, Aleya
moved to Telluride where she quickly established herself as
a respected healer. In 2000, she founded the AHHA Acupuncture
clinic, which to this day continues to provide affordable
acupuncture treatments to the community.
But
that was only the tip of the iceberg. “ In 2001 I had
a spiritual awakening and with it, my psychic-clairvoyant,
clairaudio capacities went through the roof.” As a result,
the focus of her work shifted. “Most the work I do now
is geared at looking at all the spiritual lessons you are
attempting to learn and taking the blindfold off, so that
you can understand why things are happening and how you can
make them happen differently, so that you can get what you
really want from life.”
At the beginning of a session, Aleya scans her patient’s
energy field—or energetic muscle, as she calls it—to
see what patterns and beliefs systems it is holding. Her ears
can actually hear the vibrations of the energetic muscle;
a discordant sound indicates a disruption in the physical,
mental or emotional body. “Somehow I have mastery over
working in the other dimensions where these energies are held.
I shift them in the other dimensions energetically and it
changes that vibration in the physical.”
When
asked about the secret of her success as a healer, she responded,
“I’m passionate about energetic pathology and
bringing people back into balance. I’m willing to go
anywhere to make that happen.” Whether in her professional
or her personal life, sea kayaking with dolphins or flying
planes—two of her favorite pastimes—Aleya exudes
passion in all that she does. They say that the proof is in
the pudding, and Aleya’s own life is the pudding testifying
to the power of her practice.
